Is the "variable brining" setting the recommended setting I should use for this control valve? Also, should I set the capacity (in the master settings) to 48k grains(what the unit's capacity is)? I assume that is what that setting means. Also, there are different piston/valve settings(df, dfff, and fltr). I assume the "dfff" setting, which fills first, then makes brine for 60 minutes is the best setting, or should I have it fill at the end of the cycle (df) so the brine "sits" there until next regen? If there is anyone out there that is familiar with this control valve that can help, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, for a family of four, how often should the softener regenerate (48k, 1.5 cf resin)? Any assistance from the pros would be greatly appreciated:-)
