It seems our system is a mess. I have a vacation house in the mountains of western North Carolina. We have 4 houses on a community well which only one of is occupied full time and the water quality has been getting worse over the last few years. Initially I noticed reddish deposits in the toilet tank (iron sulfate?) and discoloration of toilet bowel, showers and sink. I added filters and solved the problem but now it seem the filters need changing more regularly. We also have noticed the sulfur smell in the hot water. Even our full time resident complained of it. Last but not least is the low water pressure. The cheapskate developer of our small development installed a 1 HP pump several years ago after lightning took out the original pump which is obviously not adequate. I don't have my well info with me but I the well is just over 200', steel encased and had a lot of capacity when first installed according to the info I got from the well driller.
What can we do to improve our situation and get quality water in good volume and pressure?
In a previous post I was going to install a water tank, jet pump system but now my neighbors are willing to help pay for a fix.

Thanks for your assistance,

Howard
