Hello, figured I would start a new thread, as my other was long.

Went to change pressure gauge as suggested in my last thread. First turned off power to well and tank, opened faucet let it run dry. Went to take off pressure gauge and water came shooting out, grabbed a bucket to collect the water. Water was pretty gross, very orange/red. Well I wanted to know if there was anymore water in the tank, so I added air to the tank with a compressor and wow did yucky water come flying out, I continued to do this until no more water would come out of the tank. Now pressure tank is empty of water and air.

Did I do a bad thing by what I did? I was going to install my new pressure gauge and add air to tank to 38 psi.
