    aqua-air water system

I have a 84ft well installed in 1995 with a Marley Pump and A.O. Smith Aqua-Air model V100 tank. The pump kicks on at 20 and off at 40. When the pump first starts it sounds normal as in the past but for the last month there is a swirling sound as water is entering the tank. Once the pump kicks off the gauge jumps to 47 then settles back to 40. When the pump first shuts off there is a sloshing of water(sounds like dripping water inside of the tank only for a few seconds). Is this something that is of concern and how can it be stopped?

    Hi John,

The Aqua air tank was never one of the best tanks. I would think your tank bladder has ruptured. And the tank should be replaced.

    You can see tanks here.

When that tank waterlogs, it will be cycling your motor rapidly which will shorten it's life.

Bob Thanks for the info. What would be the proper way to replace the tank? What type would you recommend to replace it with? John

I put a link on the last post to my tank page. I sell Flexcon tanks. They are known as H2o Pro, Challenger and Well Rite. They are an excellent tank and have a 5 year warranty.

You can see them here. You might want to read the Bladder tank conspiracy simplified also.

You might want to check out the constant pressure Smart Tee. It will allow you to go with a much smaller tank and provide constant pressure to the house. It's on the tank page.
