    Waterlogged Tank?

Deep Water Well and Pump Problem
I am doing maintenance on 10 irrigation systems that work from a deep water well (400' - 500') and 5 HP submersible pump in a condo complex.

I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT DEEP WATER WELLS AND PUMPS!

The systems that are relatively close (50' - 150') to the pump work fine.
When you turn on a system further away from the pump (250' - 300') the pump IMMEDIATELY starts to cycle on and off, on and off, on and off, etc. only 1 - 2 seconds apart.

I had an "experienced" pump guy out today and he said that the 52 gallon tank at the pump is water-logged and needs to be replaced.

Does this sound like it makes sense to you experienced veterans?

    Thanks / Regards,

    Mex

If the tank is not at least a 500 gallon tank (unwaterlogged) it's too small. I recommend a Cycle Stop Valve and a small tank. Less money all around and no more cycling no matter what.

I would leave this pump off until the problem is resolved or you may be needing a new motor as well.
