How about a cat for filter media, like when to change your carbon, resins, etc.. how to clean a fouled system etc... How long has your carbon lasted? things like this. Thanks Great site.
Hi and welcome to the Forum. I'm always looking for new people with new and better ideas. It makes for a more rounded forum.
We have the water quality and filtration forum, do you think we need add another one about filter media as well. I will if you think it would help folks out there.

How about a category for 'Bad Plumber Experiences'?
That may not be a bad idea. But I don't think we should just pick on Plumbers. How about Plumbers, Well Drillers, Pump Repairmen and Electricians? And any other trades that have something in common with this Forum?
Anybody else have any suggestions on this???

Well, just with my pump and tank I just bought, BTW, I still haven't managed to talk a plumber into coming out to my house to install it yet. (I live in the country) Bought it two months ago and it's still sitting in the bedroom. One plumber said OK to coming out, so I asked off of work that day, dug up the water pipes in the yard for easy access for him, then he never showed up. Froze that night and had to cover the pipes all up again. Then today, I managed to get a hold of a pump man who said he would come out, then he found out I already had my own pump and tank so he gets rude and hangs up on me. He doesn't want to have it installed using cheap equipment, and I agree with that, but he wouldn't even listen to the brand names I had. [V]quote:Originally posted by speedbump

What brand did you buy? Just curious. I learned a long time ago not to install other peoples equipment. When something goes wrong, you and the customer are now in a P****ng contest as to who is at fault. This happened both times I installed other than my own equipment. It was equipment failure, but I still had a problem convincing the customer of that. Since I wanted to be paid for what I agreed to do, even though the equipment was faulty.
I sell equipment all the time to homeowners most of who install it themselves, but same do find contractors who are happy to install it for them. However I do not sell junk. Just quality products. This way, I stay friendly with my customers.
I will start the new Forum. But first, tell me what you think it should be called.

I bought the pump and tank from you.
My grandfather is a master plumber with 40 years experience and also says the same thing about people who will go to Home Depot or somewhere and buy the junk they sell, then call him up. When he gets out there then he finds out what they did and warns them that they won't have the best equipment there is and if there's a failure, it's not his fault. But he will use their supplies anyway.
I should have paid more attention when he was trying to teach me the plumbing trade. Then I wouldn't be in this mess. [8D]
Well, he knows what I'm talking about. I found out the hard way that no matter what you tell someone up front. When it happens, their memory suddenly becomes foggy.
I'm glad you bought from us, that's a good thing, and you did get quality.
So what do you want to call the new Forum?

OK. Found one guy, but he has never installed a sub into a shallow well that is 30" wide and 30 feet deep. He doesn't know what type of pipe to use. He is thinking about using plastic, but is worried about torque. And he says if he uses metal, it will be too heavy to do without a pump puller, which he doesn't have.
