I have a small pitcher pump that worked fine a couple years ago. When I tried to use it recently it wouldn't pump, and when I pulled the plunger out I saw it was just metal on metal - there was no seal between the plunger and the cylinder wall. Snails like to hang out in the pump, so I figured they had eaten the seal. You sell replacement leather rings so I ordered one (plus a couple spares). I had the devil of a time getting the ring onto the plunger, but after soaking it a lot and pulling on it a lot, I got it on. But now the plunger won't fit in the cylinder any more! It's too fat with the leather ring on it. Am I trying to do the wrong thing? Right now I'm drying it in hopes it will shrink, but it seems like it will still be too fat. Thanks- Beth
