We had an above ground pump for our shallow well. It stopped working and we think it is because we are in a drought and the water level fell below 25 feet. My husband dropped a 4" 3/4 horse submersible pump. It worked for just a few minutes and then stopped. He checked the pressure in the tank and the pressure switch. The pressure switch is brand new. He turned it back on and could hear the motor, but no water. He brought up the pump and redid the wiring. When he brought up the pump, there was water in the pipe all the wat to the top. It all seemed ok, but he wanted to be sure. He resunk the pump. It ran, but no water. He replaced the pump with a 1 horse power pump and the same thing. He can hear the pump run, but no water. Any ideas?
