We have a deep well jet pump in our basement. It has been noisy since we bought the house 1.5 years ago. The noise is a loud high pitched screech. The screeching changes with warm to cold weather slightly. I called a well company that told me they won't service or replace jet pumps. They will only quote me to install a submersible. Is the submersible they way to go? I don't know much about the age of the pump. It looks like a newer Myers 1/2 hp pump attached to an older deep injector? What should a ballpark cost be to replace? The well is visible, capped above ground about 6 feet from the house. I don't know the depth or any other details. I'm waiting to get the quote from them. How worried should I be about the jet pump dying on us? Thx for any help.
