I have a cabin in mid-Wisconsin. The well pump is a deep well jet pump with a Well-X-Ron tank in a 4 x 6 x 8 foot high wooden pump house. The pump house is insulated with 1.5 inches of blue foam and I have built a 4 x 4 x 4 foot high box, out of 1.5 inch thick pink foam board to surround the pump and tank.
Plan on using until end of November and drain everything until spring.
Major question? What should I use to heat the 4 x 4 foot box surrounding the pump and tank? A 60 watt light bulb like my neighbors have suggested or buy some type of small heater? If I go with a heater, what type and wattage?
And, should I pump out the water from the foot valve pipe when winterizing?
Thanks.
