I'm new to this forum, and find it to be excellent. Very gracious participants with much information.
I'm in SouthWest Georgia, and I'm on the waiting list to have my well driller put in a 4 inch well right by the side of my small creek. Mostly limestone here abouts. We're looking at an 80 foot well, but if my windmill well is any indication, static water level may very well be 15 to 18 feet.
I have no electricity available, but I have purchased a 5,250 watt generator. My small cabin will be on stilts because the creek floods every three or four years. What I really want is a small hand pump on the countertop in the building and a submersible pump at the bottom of the well. Is this even remotely possible? I'll have to extend the well casing about five feet above grade, for that flooding eventuality. The building would be over the well casing, which would present a problem when the pump had to be pulled.
I just need to know if I'm barking up the wrong tree to think I might be able to submerse an electric pump then place a hand pump pipe in the same well.
Thanks in advance ! !
