All jet pumps have two wires. Two hot's and usually a ground. Submersibles are labeled either two or three wire which is rather confusing since a two wire has three wires and a three wire has four counting the ground wires on both.

So are you switching to a three wire submersible pump from the jet pump or are you just installing another jet pump?

Your right, a jet pump just don't do a good job. If your well will produce enough water a sub will get a lot more than the jet.

How many gallons per minute do you need?

If your pump motor has a black red and yellow plus a green ground wire, you need a control box to match the motor. You can't just hook it to 230 volts.
