I have a 2 wire pump in a 100+ foot well, an old galvanized tank w/a Schrader valve in the top, all of which is approx. 30 years old. My pump seems to cycle quite a bit(I can hear the switch clicking on and off)when we are using water(filling the washer, showers, etc.) Sometime in the afternoon, we will turn on the tap and get...nothing. An hour later, all will be well again.
After reading alot on this site, it seems to me that we are heating up the pump by cycling it too much, my question is...
Where do we start? I REALLY don't want to get a new pump. Should just adjusting the switch pressure cure this? Would a CSV help? And do I need a new tank?
Thanks,
JJP
