Pumping from a pond for irrigation

I need some advice on getting the proper setup going for an irrigation system.
I am going to pump water from my pond 40' away from my pump. The water is 7.5' lower than the pump and the highest sprinkler level is 12.5' higher than the pump. My design pressure is 40-45 psi to run the sprinklers properly and the largest zone needs 10GPM.
I cannot use a submersible due to neighborhood regulations.
    Thanks in advance!!

My SFH 50 says it will do that with your specs, but I would go 3/4 or 1 hp to be safe. You will have friction losses and other things that will cut down on what the book says the pump will do. The pump is a shallow well jet pump. You can also use it with a tank if you like so you can have water on demand.

    Thanks for the quick reply!
What size tank would you recommend? Are there any specs on the pumps you sell - I didn't see any details.

Also, I have been led to believe that the jet pump wouldn't produce adequate pressure at the top of my yard. I had been planning on a 1.5hp centrifugal pump but that set up may have cycling problems. I found your forum seeking more info on cycle stop valves as I believed I would need one.
I haven't bought the pump yet and don't want to make a mistake.

    Thanks for your time,

A jet pump can make more pressure than a centrifugal. The centrifugal can pump more water than the jet. It's kind of a trade off.

If you go with a tank, I would use a 42 gallon like the WWT-20 Bladder Tank.

A centrifugal is not a good pump to be used with a pressure switch. If you want to be certain you have good pressure and plenty of water, order the SFH100 and ask me to trick up the jet for you.
