Hi,

We have a 4" casing w/ a submersible pump.

The water on top of the pump is about 30' down.

The submersible pump is 40 ' down the casing.

I have to replace it about every 10 years, which is OK as it supplies a house w/ four people, 2 dogs and a water-to-air heat pump, which uses most of the water during the summer.

My question: Is there any reason that I should NOT use stainless steel pipe to connect the next submersible pump?

After 10 years the bottom 20' piece of pipe is almost rusted through. I am afraid that the next time I pull the pump, the force required to get it free will just break off the rusted pipe, leaving the pump
stuck down there.

Thanks,
