The person who drilled my well, after my old 50' well went dry, just walked away. He punched into a clay bed at 52', and just capped it & left. He won't come back to drill deeper ... claims he doesn't have the time to spend making it okay. "I have to make a living, 'ya know!" is what he told me. I'm left with a water softener full of sediment, a water heater full of sediment, and dirty water in every pipe that leads to appliances. The filters just can't hold it back. When I saw a filter that got put in on October 24th, just 5 weeks ago had 4 inches of solid clay in it, I couldn't believe it. I'm living with a well full of clay, and believe me, it's clay. It's all over my back yard from the drill hitting it. I'm at my wits' end ... I have a house full of things that I need water for, and I can't do anything except flush the toilet and water plants. I can't live like this, and I need to know what I can do. I don't have the money to go to a lawyer and force him to make it right, as I spent my money having this bad well drilled!!! I don't want to ruin any more of my major appliances ... Can anyone offer advice?
