I have a submersible pump well system with pitless adapter. The seal for the wellcap is faulty, but that's not my big problem. When I saw the water shooting out, I thought the o-ring on the pitless adapter was worn out (it was). I replaced the o-ring and turned the pump on while the wellcap was still off. The water was not coming up the well casing from the pitless adapter (as I had thought), but rather it was shooting up the conduit (on the outside of the well casing) that carries the 2 power wires up into the well cap. The wire is not in a conduit as it leaves the crawl space. It appears to simply be strapped to the outside of the black plastic water pipe which runs from the bladder tank to the pitless adapter. My question is... How is the water getting into the conduit?
