Hi, I am interested in putting a hand pump on a deep well (200') on my property while installing a regular electric pump on a water well for our home being built in the country. I have been looking at the Model 100 from Alternative Energy Systems Co. which supposedly can be lowered right in alongside with the electric mechanism and attached at the well head. It is made of stainless steel and looks like it will do the trick. This way, in the event of a power outage, you can use the hand pump handle to bring up water. This pump is a new version of the old hand pump I am familiar with as a kid in Iowa.
I have also seen what appears to be a cast iron version of the old fashioned deep well hand pump I think is made by Monitor Baker 11HD. However, I don't think the 11HD can be placed alongisde the electrical pump in a standard house well situation.
The problem is this, we live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, just west in Weatherford. I am having trouble finding well drillers who are interested in anything new, innovative or alternative. Do you have any suggestions or can you recommend anyone in our area who might be intrested in installing a manual system alongside the electrical?
Thanks, Martu
