I have a very old water pump and we are thinking about replacing it with a new pump. Our well is a shallow well. Right now our pump is 3/4 hp. Would i benefit from more HP? Also what are some good brand shallow well pumps?

Keep in mind i am a novice that will be installing on my own, so if there is a more user friendly pump out there to install i'll take it. Anyone that can lead me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.
