I recently bought a property where a house burned down. The rubble was cleared away, and I want to use the land for grazing cattle. The drilled well was installed in 1976, and is about 200 feet deep, but that's all I know about it. The wiring coming out of the casing is #12, and consists of twisted red, black and yellow wires, but no green or ground. I installed a 4ft x 4ft pit next to the well for a pressure tank and controls. It is about 75 feet to the pit from the power panel. My question is this: How do I know if I have a 2 wire or three wire pump, and what the horsepower is? I really don't want to have to pull the pump, but I guess that may be the only way?\
Please advise.
Thanks,
Roger
