My drain field is clogging up and wet spots are appearing in the lawn at the far end of the field--really squishy--like your boot goes in up to the ankle!

I was looking for ANY alternative to paying a septic contractor $5k+ to replace the drain field. There are some fairly impressive websites touting biological remedies that inject billions of bacteria into the system and they guarantee it will clear out your drain field--even if it's a pre-existing problem.

Is this for real or is it a scam? It's not too cheap (about $500 for a complete supply of agents), but if it works it's a LOT cheaper than replacing the field. They guarantee money back, and have (supposedly) lots of testimonials saying it works.

One site is Amerisep.com the other is Newtechbio.com
Any thoughts?
