    Old 48 Ford Eye Candy

I saw this 1948 Ford Stake side for sale last week, and am still thinking about buying it. Brings back Good Memories!

Complete with Necking Nob or Suicide Knob as they were called. Sure is pretty. I was three years old when it was born.

Now i do remember the suicide knob term, because my dad made sure he installed one on all his vehicles, but don't recall the term Necking knob. Is that Necking as in the Submarine Races Necking? lol Anywho, it is kinda sad that this guy put all the time and effort into this restore job, then had to blank it up with the big rig rooster pipes, imo. That is the only thing i would change about, if i do buy it. To each his own i guess! lol. I'm about 5 years behind you in age Bob, but think we were both at Fort Ord around the same period in time, 1968?

    Take Care,

Yup, necking as in going to the submarine races. I got pulled over for using one in a curve trying to get my girlfriend to slide over next to me. Cop didn't think it was funny.

I have never been to Ft. Ord, I did my Basic in Ft. Bragg then moved around and ended up in Germany. But 68 was the year I went in. I was older than most as I was married for a while and wasn't draft-able until I divorced her. Trust me, it was worth it.
