Two men in their 70's fished every Saturday morning in the Escambia Bay delta around the Highway 90 bridges. They were a curmudgeonly pair, with seldom a complimentary remark passing between them.
One Saturday morning, one of the gents noticed a funeral procession crossing the bridge they were closest to, dropped his rod, stood up, removed his cap, and remained that way until the procession passed.
He then sat down and resumed fishing.
The second fisherman remarked "We have been fishing together nearly every Saturday for over 30 years. That is the first decent thing I have seen you do in that whole time. What gives?"
To which the other replied "Well, I have been married to the old gal for 40 years and figured that was the least I could do." [(#)]
