    Natural Hot Water Well Question!

A person was asking about how to harness the natural (120 degree) hot water well on his property. Has any of you drillers ever been down this road?

It got me to thinking, as i have installed geothermal heat pumps, but never even gave this natural hot water well deal a thought. So, let me ask you drillers this, Have you ever drilled hot water wells, and if so, what type of systems were used to harness this energy. This guy is considering a pump and dump, which could get him locked up for life in CA; He did not indicate where he was located, and i did not ask, Yet. Thanks!

I never have. And it would be just my luck to drill a hot water well here in Florida. I know Ca's laws are far from normal, but he should be able to pump and re deposit. In other words, pump the water up through whatever he wants to heat then put it back down another well. This isn't always a great idea if he has heavy mineral content, but it would probably be legal. I know it is here.

I have drilled several one in Queenanns county Md. water temp around 91 degrees F. One in Cranesville Md. temp. around 120degreeas . and one in accident Md. temp around 180 degrees F. THe problem I have found with most hot water wells is the smell like rotten eggs or ewven just pure sulpher
